خلاصه مقاله:
A microbial fuel cell is a device that converts chemical energy to electrical energy by the catalytic reaction of microorganisms. In a fuel cell, membranes especially proton exchange membranes (PEMs) have a very important role which let the proton transportation to cathode chamber. In recent years there has been intense research interest in the development of PEM fuel cells for transportation, distributed power, and portable power applications. Nafion has always been used as traditional membrane but Due to the high price of Nafion and loss of proton conductivity at high temperature, scientists have always been interested in replacing Nafion with a less expensive PEM. The aim of this study is to review the efficiency of alternative low cost membranes including Sulfonated Polyimides (SPI) and Sulfonated Poly Ether Ether Ketone with Nafion.
