Abstract:
Membrane in general is a term which divides two or more environments or phases of material and have a selective permeation; that means it is totally permeable to some material but semi- or impermeable to others [1]. Membranes are varying to a wide range of applications and each have a specific property. In the industrial scale, there are four types of membrane: Microfiltra-tion, Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration and Reverse Osmosis. The concept of dividing membranes into these four scales is differences in applications. For instance, the Ultrafiltration mem-branes are intended to reject bacteria, viruses and organic matters like colloids with a pore size distribution of 0.001to 0.1 μm [2]. Membranes are mostly polymeric material. And the sources are widely synthesis polymers. Also, there are some regenerated cellulose base poly-mers like cellulose acetate (CA) is still widely used.
