Abstract:

In the recently decades, aggregation of toxic heavy metals in environment is one of the biggest concerns in environmental protection plans. Most of the heavy metals are carcinogenic and they are toxic for human and other animals. Bioremediation of heavy metals is a way to remove them. Biological materials such as cells and microorganisms are useful green tools to eliminate heavy metals from environment. In addition, polypeptide sequences are the new approach to eliminate heavy metals. Specific polypeptide expressed on the surface of phages, yeasts or bacterial cells due to surface displayed techniques. The polypeptides can selectively bind and absorb the toxic heavy metals to remove them from environment. Here, we study surface displayed polypeptides for bioremediation of heavy metals
