خلاصه مقاله:
Heart attacks and brain strokes are two of the main deathcauses in the world and therefore, their genesis anddevelopment are of a great medical importance. Lipiddeposition in arterial wall which leads to the decrease of theblood flow in a gradual process is known as the main reasonof these strokes. An axisymmetric five-layer arterial wallincluding endothelium, intima, Internal Elastic Lamina(IEL), media and the impermeable adventitia layer ismodeled in the present study. The effect of fluid-structureinteraction on low-density lipoprotein (LDL) transport intoarterial wall is investigated. The result shows drasticincrease of LDL concentration in the compliant artery wallscomparing to the rigid model, especially at high transmuralpressures.
