خلاصه مقاله:
In the present paper, the flow field of a three-dimensionalsynthetic jet issuing into a turbulent boundary layercrossflow is studied by using the large eddy simulation(LES) approach. CFD results are compared with theexperimental data and also an RNG k-ɛ URANS model tovalidate the numerical simulations. The RNG k-ɛ model isin better agreement with experimental measurements whilethe LES predicts the trend of flow velocity in the vicinity ofthe orifice more accurately. LES is extremely sensitive tothe grid resolution and boundary conditions. Consequently,this model may cause an under or overestimation ascompared with experiment in the regions of high-velocitygradients such as boundary layers.
