Open innovation ecosystem: A Systematic Review on Management and role of orchestrators

Over the past decade, researchers have paid less attention to inter-organizational or ecosystem perspective of the open innovation. Interaction of actors in innovation ecosystem results in conflict of interest among actors. Managing the conflicts can be obtained through different management strategies. An orchestrator or focal firm can play a crucial role in directing an ecosystem and managing the tension in the innovation ecosystem. In order to explore this aspect of open innovation ecosystem, this research is intended to determine and gather papers that focused on open innovation ecosystem and systematically analyze role of the orchestrators and management strategies that presented in the studies. A total of 20 articles which discussed open innovation ecosystem were identified. Results were analyzed by NVIVO/10 software, which illustrated various orchestrator and management strategies from an innovation ecosystem perspective. This study attempts to fill some future research gaps.
