Abstract:
In the current paper, a modified two—objective Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is used for vibration reduction of smart angle-ply laminated composite satellite panels subject to a step load. Power consumption and vertical displacement optimization of angle-ply composite satellite panels are carried out by piezoelectric patches. The voltages of patches, satellite panel length/width ratios, ply angles, number of layers and edge conditions are chosen as design variables. The formulation of satellite panel is based on the classical laminated plate theory (CLPT) and Hamilton s principle.
