Abstract:

To investigate the temperature distribution inside perfused tissue during magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH), the Pennes bio-heat equation (BHE), has been used. Superparamagnetic nanoparticles dissipate heat in an external alternating magnetic field, when their temperature are under their Curie temperature (CT). Low Curie temperature magnetic nanoparticles (LCTMNPs) have the CT near to the therapeutic temperature 37-45ͦ C. This property can reduce side effect and keep temperature of healthy tissue around normal body temperature during MFH. The MFH that use magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) with low CT, named as self-regulated MFH. A lattice Boltzmann model (LBM) is applied to solve the Pennes BHE in a cylindrical tissue with blood perfusion, magnetic nanoparticles heat sources and without metabolism
