Abstract:

A hybrid front-tracking/ghost-fluid method is used to simulate fluid interfaces in a shock–bubble problem. The fluid interfaces are captured by an explicit front-tracking method. The interface conditions are defined by the ghost-fluid method. The shock-bubble interaction using the Euler equations without surface tension effect are performed, as has been done in past computations in order to demonstrate the accuracy andcapability of this method. The computational results are compared with Haas and Sturtevant’s experiment and earlier computational studies. The results show that the method accurately simulates interface dynamics
