Abstract:

The most important problem for water and particular groundwater is the presence of pollutants such Arsenic. Based on standard, drinking water should decreased amount of Arsenic to a few pat of million. Several methods were used to treat water containing pollutants like Arsenic, methods such Ion exchange, Flocculation, adsorption and ect, In the recent decades utilizing low cost materials as an adsorbent for removing Arsenic from waste water were investigated. Natural materials and industrial waste could challenge with activated carbon. Modification of the adsorbents with different acids and bases can also improve adsorption capacity. In this article important methods for Arsenic removal were implied and some low cost materials as an adsorbent has been reviewed then the maximum adsorption capacity achieved from Langmuir isotherm were reported.
