Abstract:

Pipelines play an extremely important role throughout the world as a mean of transporting gases and liquids over long distances from their sources to the ultimate consumers. Coatings are regarded as an effective method in order to prevent the corrosion phenomena. However, the selection of an appropriate type of coating on the basis of the operation service is considered as a crucial process. Service temperature is one of these important issues that is evaluated in several researches in order to enhance the thermal-stability of coating films. Recently, nanotechnology has devised many ways which can be applicable in coating production, as well. Nanoparticles as excellent candidates are useful in ameliorating the coating application in high temperature. Due to some destructive effects of these materials on protecting factors of coating; therefore, there should be an optimization through the final required characteristics of coatings. In this research the effects of prevalent nanoparticles on enhancement of coating application in high temperature services are investigated. Furthermore, each type of these nanoparticles is discussed based on their special effects, disadvantages on behalf of representing the comparatives results.
