Abstract:

In this work, we present a new, facile and low-cost method to ammonia adsorption process from industrial wastewater by using the wood charcoal pieces that prepared from Oak and Lemon woods. Microstructure properties of the natural adsorbents have been characterized by XRD and FESEM analyses. Charcoal Pieces were used as adsorbent due to their low weight, floatability and high porosity surface. Also, the FESEM analysis confirmed the good features of the charcoal as either adsorbent. pH and initial ammonia concentration were the main parameters affecting the ammonia adsorption. The adsorption process of these adsorbents were investigated under visible light in laboratory conditions. The results showed that the prepared wood charcoal composites had extraordinary adsorption ability for ammonia. Also in these process, the Oak charcoal had good results after total process.
