Abstract:
Water electrolysis is the most promising method for efficient production of high purity hydrogen and oxygen. It has the advantage of being able to produce hydrogen by using only renewable energy. Low cost and non-noble metals with high activity and durability are the choice to replace expensive metals for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The aim of the present article is to evaluate performance of stainless steel sheet, copper, brass, and nickel as a cathode in alkaline media. The stability and activity of the samples were investigated by steady-state polarization curve
