Abstract:

Underwater wireless sensor network (UWSN) is a specific kind of sensor networks that is used for underwater environmentsexploration especially the oceans by means of acoustic channels. There are some challenges in this kind of networks such as limitedbandwidth, high and variable delay, high energy consumption, high error rate of the channel, multipath fading, minimum lifetime and soon. Sensor nodes in this type of networks tackle resource challenges like limited power, memory space and processing pace. Sensors areutilized for military operations, underwater explorations and surveillance. Every sensor in the UWSN consumes more energy incomparison with the terrestrial sensor networks, because they use acoustic technology. Node clustering is the most common way toorganize the data traffic and intra-communications reduction along with scalability and energy consumption improvement. Since in thisarticle a routing algorithm based on fuzzy clustering and with balanced energy consumption in the UWSN is proposed. Simulation resultsshow that the proposed algorithm is efficient due to its energy consumption reduction and throughput improvement in comparison toDABC1 algorithm [1].
