A simple and convenient approach was suggested for the synthesis of 4-amino-2-aryl-2H-pyrimido- [1,2b][1,3] benzothiazole-3-carbonitriles through a one-pot three-component reaction of 2- aminobenzothiazole, aldehydes, and malononitrilein the presence of metal organic frameworks. The products were obtained in excellent yields and short reactions times using MIL-53(Fe) as catalyst. The prepared nanocatalyst maintained itsunique framework after the reaction and could be recycled and reused several times without significant loss of activity. The catalyst was characterized by FT-IR, SEM and EDX analysis.
