Synthesis of carbon-supported Pt/C catalysts using a new preparation technique, a reverse micelle method, is reported. Platinum nanocatalysts supported on Vulcan XC-72 carbon have been synthesized through the reduction of chloroplatinic acid with Sodium borohydride, using reverse micelles as nanoreactors in the cyclohexane medium. The performance of the Pt/C catalysts was tested by threecompartment electrochemical cell technique.
