Abstract:
This paper studies the optimal operation management of Micro-Grids (MGs), using cloud theory and harmony search (HSC), considering different types of Distributed Generation (DG) such as Wind Turbine (WT), Photovoltaic (PV), Micro Turbine (MT), Fuel Cell (FC) and storage devices. A stochastic optimization method based on cloud theory is used to consider the micro-grid’s uncertainty. In comparison to other method, cloud theory can contain and model more uncertainty of the problem using cloud drops. Consequently, Due to the high difficulty and nonlinearity of the problem, an efficient optimization technique based on harmony search (HS) algorithm is suggested. In order to see the high performance and ability of the proposed method, a typical grid connected micro-grid with several dispatchable and nondispatchable units are considered as the case study. The simulation results show the proper ability of the proposed stochastic framework than the others, to capture the uncertainty of the problem. Also, the high search ability of the proposed HCS in both global and local explorations is evident.
