Abstract:

this paper exhibits a reactive power control procedure for variable speed wind turbines (VSWTs) during distant grid faults in order to supporting grid voltage in point of common coupling (PCC). In proposed methodology appropriateestimation of positive and negative sequence reactive power are deciding switching duty cycles of the present mode voltage source inverter (VSI) of the VSWT to keeping PCC voltage inadmissible level during distant grid faults. Primary commitment of this work is thinking practical reactive power capability of VSWT. This utmost in comparable works introduced in written works is not considered. Likewise proposed procedure asopposed to utilizing an intricate loop scientifically assessing some system parameters basically utilizes their deliberate information. At long last adequacy of the proposed reactive power controltechnique is verified by playing out a few simulations in PSCAD/EMTDC environment.
