Abstract:

This paper presents a model for optimal operation of a microgrid including MicroTurbine (MT), Fuel Cell (FC), Wind Turbine (WT), Boiler, Reformer, Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and Battery to provide electrical and thermal load. MT andFC units are supposed as CHP units. The Boiler is applied to provide shortage of heat power to cover the thermal load. Also, the microgrid is connected to the upstream network. Hence, microgrid has power exchanges with upstream network. The proposed model schedules the next day operation program of units and the amount of power exchanged with the upstream network, with the aim of reducing operating cost and the amountof pollution. Due to the nature of wind speed changing and the quantity of electricity and thermal consumption, the uncertainties related to the amount of power which is producedby the WT and the quantity of electricity and thermal consumption are considered. Also, the Demand Response program is considered in optimal operation of the microgrid. Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) has been used to supply hydrogen requirement for fuel cell operation.
