Abstract:

ECG signal is one of the major contributors to diagnose heart diseases and through recording process many noises affect the signal such as power line interference. In order to remove this effect, a filter is needed which only removes a specified frequency. In this paper we use digital fir notch filter to remove PLI. Input data of ECG signal is obtained from MIT-BIH database. Architecture of filter is obtained by MATLAB FDA tool and tested by MATLAB Simulink and then is enhanced by our proposed algorithm to reduce hardware. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithms remarkably reduces the hardware complexity of the FIR filter for eliminating PLI from the electrocardiogram (ECG) signal.
