Abstract:

In constructing seismic resistant buildings in earthquake-prone areas, the application of various solutions for reducing destructive effects of earthquake on a structure is essential. This can be done through reducing thehorizontal displacement of foundation and structure, as well as the shear force exerted on the base of columns. There are different studies into structure that provide various solutions for decreasing seismic loss and its effects onstructures. All elements designed to reduce and dissipate earthquake forces are constructed on the structure or at the structure-foundation intersection whereas, earthquake waves move from deep beneath the earth s surfacetowards the surface. Therefore, distraction or absorption of them on their path to the surface obviates the need for any damper. This article aimed at providing a novel solution for coping with seismic waves. To this end, a group ofcircular and square piles with different lengths were modeled around the structure. Abaqus software was used for modeling and data analysis
