Abstract:
PVC based nanocomposite heterogeneous cation exchange membranes constructed using solutioncasting procedure, in which additive compound, ZnO nanoparticle (10 wt.%), applied in membranefabrication. An intense electrical field was applied on the prepared membranes. The impact of electricalpoling voltage and duration time on resistance and microstructure of ion exchange membranes wasinvestigated. The electrical resistance declined sharply via extraordinary voltage and time of poling. Moreover, two-phase structure model was used to study the morphological of membranes. According totwo-phase model the heterogeneity of poled membranes enhanced under poling conditions. These empiricalfindings provide a new understanding of PVC/Nano-ZnO ion exchange membrane modifications that iscomparable to other commercials.
