Abstract:
Experimental solubility and tie-line data for the ternary system of (water + phosphoric acid + propyl acetate) weremeasured at T = 318.2K and atmospheric pressure. Data for the binodal curve were determined by cloud-point titrationmethod. The concentration of phase was determined by acidimetric titration, the Karl–Fischer technique, and refractiveindex measurements. A type-1 LLE phase diagram was obtained for this ternary system. The quality of the experimentaltie-line data was determined through the Othmer–Tobias correlation equation. The experimental distributioncoefficients and separation factors were evaluated for this system. The results show the ability of this organic solventfor extraction of phosphoric acid from water.
