Abstract:

The catalyst aging is studied numerically and experimentally. The aging parameters such as temperature, mass flow and aging time are individually studied. Also the effect of geometry of burner such as length and diameter and position of ignition on aging process and exhaust parameters of burner are investigated. The optimum geometry of burner and flow rate are achieved numerically and based on these results the experimental setup is built. Following features are possible at our burner test bench. The test bench is consists of a burner with a mixer unit, an air- and EGR supply and a fuel supply system. At the mixing unit the fuel, the air and the EGR will mixed in such a way that the exhaust gas full fills the set point for mass flow, lambda and exhaust gas temperature. Afterwards the mixed exhaust gas flows through the catalyst.
