Abstract:

Tanks have been strategic structures been for storing of different fluids and are very important due to the extensive application in various industries, especially oil and petrochemical ensure of their stability against seismic loads. Oil tanks damaging cause wildfires and leakage of toxins and pollutes the environment. A large number of existing tanks at oil installations are of unanchored kind. in this paper for modeling in the abaqus finite element software from a ground steel tank which are widely used in the oil depots under the excitation of seismic load is Kobe earthquake accelerograms. And about gathering information are used mainly field method based on documents available administrative maps. Due to the major limitations in the field of laboratory modeling and the complex interactions within the treble model of Fluid- Structure and Soil- Structure abaqus software is the best choice modeling. Parameters such as stress and strain contours in unanchored tanks and amount vertical displacement tanks have been studied in the two modes anchored and unanchored. The results show that unanchored cylindrical steel tanks involve relative complex dynamic and nonlinear behavior based on the interaction between structure, fluid, and soil. That by anchoring tank and increasing the flexibility of the foundation soil, the resistance of tanks will increase against earthquakes.
