Abstract:
In this research, the efficiency of polyvinylpyrrolidone has been studied as a support for nano cobalt chromate and use as a heterogeneous oxidant for selective oxidation of 3-nitrobenzyl alcohol to corresponding carbonyl compound, which is 3-nitrobenzaldehyde. The one-step systematic derivatization of the polyvinylpyrrolidone scaffold led to a structural diversity which was correlated to the stabilization of cobalt nano particles and catalysis. Analysis of this polymeric reagent recognized that cobalt chromate nano composite is a proper and effective oxidation reaction. Order of oxidation reaction of 3-nitrobenzyl alcohol, over heterogeneous catalyst, nano cobalt chromate, is investigated and the overall order of this oxidation reaction is 2.
