A Survey of the Air Quality of Kermanshah City in Terms of Dust phenomenon and its Effect on Tourism Activity (2005-2011)

Dust phenomenon is one of the most important global challenges namely in the arid and semi-arid areas including the Middle East. In recent years, this phenomenon is increased in the western areas of Iran. Based on the geographical position of Kermanshah city and high attraction of this city namely in spring and summer, this city has high potential in attracting tourists. However, in recent years,dust phenomenon is turned into a great barrier in tourism. The results of the studies show that in recent years, the number of dusty days in Kermanshah city is increased and in spring and summer seasons, we observe high rate of pollution and this phenomenon reduces the number of tourists and tourism in Kermanshah city is restricted only to some months in a year.
