With the increasing tendency towards cloud computing and cloud-based applications, data centers have proliferated in terms of size and number, sequences of which are increase in energy costs, operating costs and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. As a result of the cloud environment is dynamic, having dynamic solutions in order to control power and energy consumption in it is very necessary. Dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) is an effective technique to reduce the power consumption of physical machines. It dynamically reduces power based on the current state of the physical machines. This paper reviews of approaches that reduce dynamic power consumption of processors via the DVFS technique
