Abstract:
Image cryptography is one of the most important issues in multimedia information security. The need for efficient image encryption necessitates designing novel algorithms, which encipher the multimedia content in a short time. In this paper, we have designed a high performance image encryption algorithm to fulfill this requirement. In the proposed algorithm, the 1D chaos-based image encryption scheme has been implemented using Network on chip (NoC). In the employed chaos-based algorithm, the successive pixels can be enciphered in parallel. This property makes the algorithm suitable to be implemented on NoC, in order to reduce the time complexity of the encryption. We have designed the NoC architecture using the Heracles toolkit. The simulation results have shown that, the proposed approach improves the average running time of encryption significantly compared with the previous solutions
