Abstract:
Recent advances of nanoelectromechanical systems as well as the various applications of nanocantilevers in these systems have attracted much attention in research circles. Nowadays, nanoelectromechanical systems are extensively used to develop nanodevices such as nanosensors, nanoactuators, nanoswitches and nanogrippers. Due to their numerous advantages such as easy fabrication, higher sensitivity, and lower power consumption, nanocantilevers are widely used in many nanoelectromechanical systems. Given the diversity and wide scope of application of the nanocantilevers, a better understanding of their behavior can help better utilize them. To the best of the author’s knowledge, the size effect on nanocantilever behavior has not yet been studied. In this paper, the effect of size on the bending behavior of a nanocantilever is investigated using molecular dynamics simulation method
