Abstract:
In this paper, a probabilistic model to joint energy and reserve scheduling in restructured power systems is proposed. To this end, the operation cost, reserve cost, and expected-energy-not-supplied (EENS) cost are simultaneously minimized. In order to reduce computational burden caused by the EENS, a heuristic linearization method is utilized to formulate the problem in the mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) format which optimality of solutions are guaranteed. Moreover, a multi-step algorithm is proposed to improve computational efficiency. The simulations are carried out by means of both the deterministic and probabilistic approaches. In addition, a sensitivity analysis is developed. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and productivity of proposed approach
