خلاصه مقاله:
multidrug resistance protein 1 (MDR1) or ATP- binding cassette sub-family B member 1 (ABCB1) gene is a membrane-associated protein which transport various molecules across extra- and intra- cellular membranes. It is reported to be associated with drug resistance in cancer patients. The aim of current study was to investigate the association of rs1128503 in ABCB1 in patients with cervical cancer. DNA was extracted from 64 cervical cancer patients and 212 healthy women and then genotyped by TaqMan real-time PCR. Logistic regression was utilized to assess the relationship between CC risk andgenotypes. The significant prognostic variables in the univariate analysis were included in multivariate analyses. the genotypic frequency for GG,AG, and AA were 21.5%,62.7%,15.6% in patient group and 14.6%, 52.8%, 32.5% in healthy group respectively. GG genotype was associated with the increased risk in recessive genetic model. Our findings showed the association of a genetic variant in ABCA1 gene with cervical cancer
