In this study, carbon hollow spheres were synthesized using silica templating method. Silica nanospheres were fabricated using Stober method in presence of ammonia solution as catalyst. Polysaccharide shell was formed via hydrothermal process and glucose was used as carbon precursor. In addition, templates removing were performed in 10 % hydrofluoric acid solution. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to evaluate morphology of the synthesized structures. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to determine characteristic absorbance bonds of silica templates. Also, Raman spectroscopy was used to evaluate the structure of the formed carbon shell. The results showed that the carbonization of the coated silica nanospheres at 900 ºC and etching of silica cores led to formation of carbon shell and carbon hollow structures.
