Abstract:

The search for new and more efficacious Technetium-99m (99mTc) radiopharmaceuticals has been a continuous process for nearly half a century, as can be seen from the increasing number of scientific papers published on this topic every year. A cold kit contains the ligand to which 99mTc is to be complexed, an adequate quantity of reducing agent, buffer to adjust the pH to suit the labelling conditions, stabilizing agents and excipients. The new idea for enhancing the application of 9mTc is preparation of kit using nanocolloids. The Technetium-99m nanocolloids with a particle size of 10–80 nm can be prepared and used for bone marrow scintigraphy, lymphoscintigraphy and detection of inflammation. In his research the nanocolloids of 99mTc are compared with traditional colloids in the field of exposed dose to the patient. The results of comparison shows that application of 99mTc nanocolloids for injection increase the image quality, also, decreases the whole body radiation dose of patient after injection of medicine to the patient.
