The Investigation of Methods of Preventing Gas Hydrate Formation in Gas Pipelines

Although gas hydrates are formed at high pressure and low temperature, these conditions can occur for any pipeline to transport oil and gas. To avoid clogging the pipelines, hydrate formation must be prevented. Various methods of preventing hydrate formation include: A) Keeping gas flow pressure under gas hydrate formation pressure at a specified temperature and composition of vapor phase. B) Keeping gas flow temperature higher than the temperature of gas hydrate formation at a specified pressure and composition of vapor phase. C) Preventing the formation of liquid phase in pipeline by decreasing the water in the system through dehydration of input gas. D) Injecting inhibitor. In this paper, the methods of preventing gas hydrate formation in gas pipelines will be discussed
