The design and synthesis of 8-amino coffeinyl hydroxyl alkyl derivatives as analogues of cafaminol is described. The synthesis of these compounds was achieved in two steps. Initially, treatment of caffeine with N-bromosuccinimide afforded the prerequisite 8-bromocaffeine. Then, reaction of 8-bromocaffeine with different commercial and/or synthesized amine, epoxide and Cu/c nanoparticle as reaction catalyst was achieved to afford the corresponding 8-amino caffeine derivatives as potential chemotherapeutic agents in good to excellent yields.
