خلاصه مقاله:
Among women breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer worldwide. The early detection of breast cancer can lead to decreased mortality rates, therefore accurate and sensitive imaging techniques are required. Among the typical breast imaging techniques ultrasound has proven to be more sensitive in the diagnosis of breast cancer in dense breast tissue compared to mammography. Breast ultrasound plays a major role in the identification, diagnosis, and staging of breast cancer and can differentiate solid from cystic masses, suspicious from benign lesions, and abnormal from normal lymph nodes. Gray-scale (B-mode) is the most common form of ultrasound used in breast imaging, newer techniques such as harmonic imaging, Doppler imaging, three-dimensional(3D) ultrasound, and elasticity imaging have also been employed. The steady advancements in transducer developments, signal processing, and image formation technologies promise continued improvement in lesion detection, image quality and ultimately, diagnosis.because Ultrasonography is an indispensable tool in breast imaging, so the aim of this study is review on new Techniques and new applications of ultrasound in breast imaging.
