Abstract:
Today, job plays an important role in different aspects of human life, because it directly relates to physical and mental health of human. The employees’ commitment to organization has important role in their job performance. This study has aimed to investigate the effect of personality factors on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) among nurses in hospitals. Its method was descriptive-analytic. Data was gathered by questionnaire methods.NEO personality inventory and organizational citizenship behavior of Organ questionnaire was used to investigate the variables. The research population was nurses of Shahid Motahari hospital in Marvdasht, Iran. About 150 questionnaires were gathered and the collected data was analyzed using structural equation modeling by SPSS19, AMOS 20 softwares. Results showed that personality factors have effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Dimensions of openness to experience, extraversion and consciousness have positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Neuroticism negatively influences organizational citizenship behavior and agreeableness does not influence OCB.
