Abstract:
In recent century design and building of fast vessels with low resistance has increasingly improved. The progress in this area has resulted in hydrofoil and surface effects . One of such new design is aero-hydrofoil that is a combination of hydrofoil and surface effect craft, the main goal main body of the craft is a airfoil (wing) form, that reduces a lot oa the resistance in comparison with hydrofoil crafts. Wing has angle of attack of 4 and in its statical condition it has 3.0 m draught at base line. When propulsion system (Waterjet) starts to work the wing emerge from water surface and in full speed (80 knot) it will stand about 1.5 m above water level. In this condition , the weight of craft is supported about 86% by a airfoil (wing) lift and 14% by hydrofoils lift. The wing connected to hydrofoils by means of some columns that are shaped like foils they are working like strut for supporting as well ad they are providing additional lifting force which is about 30% of total lift, this is provided by surface (ground) effect. The controlling and maneuvering system are installed both on hydrofoils and wing . Such controlling system guarantees good maneuverability in sea condition (up to sea state3).
