Effective Components on the Trend Toward Agricultural and Animal Product Insurance in Rural Regions(Case Study: Khomein County)

Given the importance of the agriculturesector in the country’s economy,activities in this sector are differentfrom other productive and economicactivities. Such difference is consideredas a high-risk action due to theagriculture’s heavy reliance on nature. Productinsurance is a significant tool to reduce the risks ofnatural disasters; yet establishing agriculturalinsurance in a rural society must be taken intoaccount as a new phenomenon. Similar to any otherform of innovation, its reception by agriculturalproducers may face resistance or involve a slow andtime-consuming progress which is a function ofvarious socioeconomic factors. Without awarenessabout such factors, the possibility of attracting aproper participation of agricultural beneficiaries is little.As a result, the present study attempts to identify themost important factors on the trend toward agriculturaland animal product insurance of rural residents in orderto institutionalize these factors in Khomein County withrespect to their extent of effectiveness.
