Introduction: According to socio-cultural situation, determination the unmet needs and self-efficacy levels of women cancer patients, patient-centered care planning is necessary. The unmet needs and self-Efficacy in disease management of cancer patients are the key factors.The purpose of this research was to determine the unmet needs of women cancer patients and its relationship to self- efficacy in these patients. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational study. The study included 175 women cancer patients admitted to Omid hospital in Mashhad City. Data were collected from February 2014 to June 2014 by Census sampling. The data was gathered by three questionnaires including the demographic information, the Survivor Unmet Needs Survey and the Chronic Disease Self-Efficacy Scales. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version20and statistical tests based on different variables. Results: The majority of participants, 70.5% were married, 88.6% were unemployed and 29% had high school or college education. Most of participants had colon cancer were 19.3%, Breast cancer 18.2% and stomach cancer 16.3% respectively. The results indicated that the mean of total score of unmet needs is (2.86±0.63) to 4. The highest unmet needs score was belonged to concern about work and financial needs, and the lowest was belonged to emotional needs. The results indicate the overall score Self Efficacy was 5.26±1.81 of 10 in patients with cancer which represents the Medium level self-efficacy. The highest self-efficacy score was belonged to communication with physician domain There was a significant and reverse correlation between the total score of unmet needs and the total score of self-efficacy (r= -0.24; P < 0.05). Conclusion: For providing care to women cancer patients, Nurses must pay attention to Prioritization the unmet needs of patients, and on the other hand, according to the inverse relationship between the unmet needs and level of self-Efficacy, Nurses should consider the self-Efficacy levels improving of patient as a care priority and Design and implement interventions to improve patient self-efficacy level.
