Abstract:

Nowadays, educational websites and their training content are available everywhere and every time. Currently, most universities and educational institutions are investing in the development of e-learning software, providing electronic content and learning management systems to attract learners. Therefore, the competition within the field is very high and pay attention to the critical success factors (CSF) of educational websites are crucial. In this study, success criteria of educational websites were extracted and evaluated through a comprehensive literature review. These factors were categorized in four groups, namely technical quality, design quality, information quality and quality of instructor. In order to confirm the found factors and theirs sub-categorizes, the data were gathered from all educational websites managers in Iran. Using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) approach, these criteria were prioritized. The findings suggest that information quality is the most important CSF followed by quality of instructor, qualities of design and technical quality in success of educational websites. The results can help universities and educational institutions in formulating successful strategy and enhancing their websites quality to gain more learners.
