Adsorption of 1-chloro-4-nitrobenzene (1C4NB) from aqueous solutions by black tea leaves waste (BTLW) as a low cost adsorbent has been carried out. The adsorption experiments were performed under various conditions such as different initial 1C4NB concentrations, pH, dosage of BTLW, temperature and reaction time. It was found that adsorption reached equilibrium at 50 min and the optimum pH was found to be 7. Experimental results showed that the kinetic model of pseudo second order provided a good description.
