Abstract:

In 2013, E. coli strains were classified into eight (A,B,C,D,E,F,Clade,Unknown) phylogenetic groups using a new quadruplex PCR method by Clermont. Pathogenic strains belong mainly to groups B2 and D, while the of this study were to identify the phylogenetic groups most fecal isolates belong to groups A and B1. The aims In this study, 120 E. coli ..method and to assess their antibiotic resistance patterns of E. coli based on Clermont strains collected from littoral different parts of Persian Gulf in Bushehr-Iran. Phylogenetic typing were subjected by quadruplex PCR method. Antimicrobial susceptibility tests was performed by disk diffusion method. Results of phylogenetic groups were showed groups A (19.16%), B1 (20%), B2 (2.5%) ,C (17.5%), E (13.3%), clade I/II (3.33%) and phylogenetic group unknown (21.6%). The most common antibiotic resistance was related to Tetra-cycline and Ampicillin (25%). Antibiotic resistance was mainly detected in the group B1 (31.48%). In this study, majority of isolated E. coli belong to phylogenetic group unknown while the group B2 had the lowest prevalence..34% of isolated E. coli belong to new groups that described C, E, F, and clade I/II phylogroups
