Abstract:
Nepeta jenus belongs to the family Lamiaceae is an important medicinal plant with anti-inflammatory effects and so far over 250 species of this genus in the world, 67 species have been reported from Iran, most of them are used in tradition-for their anticonvulsant, anti-cough and asthma, antiseptic effects. This jenus has the medicinal compond 1, al medicine 8-cineole and According to the nature of secondary metabolites production rate was slow , it seems to be necessary for rapid and mass production of secondary metabolites and pharmaceuticals use plant tissue culture techniques optimally. transformations have emerged as an ideal biotech hairy root cultures produced via Agrobacterium rhizogenes-mediated nological system for the production of valuable phytochemicals because of their genetic stability and large-scale biomass production. In general, different medium compounds have significant effects on growth and establishment of hairy roots. for hairy root growth , leaves of nepeta were inuculate witth In this research in order to Optimize the medium componds A. rhizogenes and then were placed on glass Petri dishes containing three different media formulations, namely MS at both full and half strengths and WPM ¼ strengths. Using various medium have a significant effect on hairy root growth and root length significantly.Based on Maximum hairy root growth and root,WPM1/4 was determined to stabilize the plant hairy root culture
