The differences between parasite’s fauna in sepia pharaonis and Uroteuthis du : vauceli

Parasitesareimportantasanintegralpartofanecosystem.Theyeffectonaquaticanimals’behavior,declineineggproduction,healthandmortality.Cephalopodsareaquaticanimalsthatduetorapidgrowthandshortlifecyclearenoticedoncultivation’sindustry.Afewstudieshasbeendoneoncephalopod’sparasites,especiallyinPersianGulf.ThisstudyisperformedtoconsiderparasiteinfectionsofSepiapharaonisandUroteuthisduvauceliinBandar-Abbas.Sampleswerecaughtinwarmandtemperateseasonof1394(65squid,55sepia)withtrawlnetfromBandar-Abbas,andafterfreezingthesamplesweretransferredtothelaboratory.Thesamplesweredissectedafterbiometry.Gill,digestivetract,gonads,eyes,kidneys,mantlecavityandexternalsurfacewerestudiedtofindparasites.Theresultsshowedthat80%ofsquidsand21.82%ofcuttlefishesareinfected.Peanutwormswith94.37%andharpacticoidwith1.27%,respectivelyhavethemostandtheleastpresenceinsquidsalsoCyclopoidswith5.39%wereobservedinthem.TheprevalenceofCestod’slarvaesandanisakisnematodewere77.06%and0.29%,respectivelyhaveinsepias.IntheotherhandPeanutwormswith22.9%wereidentifiedinthem.Accordingtothisstudy,parasiteinfectioninsquidishigherthansepia.ThisisthefirstparasiticstudyonUroteuthisduvauceliandSepiapharaonisinPersianGulf.Andtheidenti-.fiedspeciesarereportedforthefirsttimeoftheregion
