Abstract:
Being highly applicable in drug and food and containing alphatocophorol, Melissa officinalis is a perennial herbaceous plant in the lamiaceae family. Hydroponic techniques has been sucesded increase production of secondry metabolites in medicinal plants. The most important thing in Hydroponic culture is nutrient solution management .this research was conducted to compare the effect of basic MS and Hogland media on phenolics and rosemarinic acid content of Melissa officinalis, an important medicinal plants of lamiaceae. The plants seeds were cultivated as a completely randomized design with three replication in perlite substrates, and after week gerimination were irrigated with 1/4MS or 1/4Hogland medium. Two months after feeding the plants were harvested and analyzed. As a result the amount of phnolics and rosmarinic acid in Melissa officinalis plants irrigated with Hogland busic media was higher than the plants irrigated with MS media
