Abstract:

The aim of present research was to examine the factorial structure of the EPQ-RS in the Persian context and its psychometric properties in terms of reliability and validity. Participants were 402 students of Semnan University who were chosen by clustering random sampling method. All of them completed 48-items Persian version of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire. Exploratory analysis, confirmatory analysis and Cronbach s alpha coefficient were used for data analysis. All subscales have sufficient reliability in both methods. The Cronbach s alpha coefficients in the subscales range from 0.75 to 0.82. The results of the factor analysis indicated that the scale was saturated with the four factors of Neuroticism, Extraversion, Lie and Psychoticism. Finally, with regard to reliability, validity, easy administering, scoring, and practicality, Persian version of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire in the students can be used as a valid tool.
