خلاصه مقاله:
Introduction: Presence or absence of three cell surface receptors including estrogen (ER), progesterone (PR) and HER2 receptors are considered in diagnosis and determining treatment strategy for breast cancer patients. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play as oncogenes or tumor suppressors. According to recent studies, lncRNAs are involved in the development and progression of breast cancer. Methods: In this study, for the first time, the expression level of ARSD-AS1 gene and the presence of ER, PR, and HER2 receptors have evaluated in clinical samples of tumor tissues and margins of same breast tumors. For quantification of transcriptional level of ARSD-AS1 gene total cellular RNA, cDNA synthesis and Real-Time PCR was performed. Data was statistically analyzed. Results: Our results showed a potential regulation of ARSD-AS1 gene with estrogen and progesterone receptors in tumor cells of patients with breast cancer. The expression of ARSD-AS1 was down-regulated in the absence of ER and PR and vice versa. Conclusion: Regarding the role of some lncRNAs as oncogenes and tumor suppressors, ARSD-AS1 may have a role in regulation of PR, ER, and HER2 receptors and vice versa, proof of this potential role require further studies
