Abstract:
Introduction: The diagnosis of breast cancer is associated to lymph scout groups and a reliable biopsy can be performed in selected patients with early-stage breast cancer which that decreases axillary lymph node dissection and its complications in subsequent . This study aimed to evaluate Sentinel lymph node biopsy of breast cancer. Methods: In this clinical trial study, 30 women with breast cancer by size of less than five cm as sampling and informed consent were included. Lymph nodes help radioisotopes accurately identify and biopsy of lymph nodes was performed and samples were sent to the pathology laboratory.Results: After the samples were determined by pathology laboratories that about 47% of the results were positive for metastasis and metastasis were observed in the rest. Positive value node biopsy in the evaluation of breast cancer was about 78 percent. Conclusion: Considering the high rate of success of sentinel node biopsy in breast cancer evaluation, Sentinel lymph node biopsy was brought in elderly recommendation.
